Gawler is located 44 kms north of Adelaide and has a population of about 20,000 with a catchment area of up to 40,000 people.
The town was founded in 1839 and named after Governor Gawler.
Gawler is a popular location for people working in the northern suburbs and the Barossa and because of it’s excellent train accessibilty (about 45 minutes) it is also a popular choice for people working in the Adelaide CBD.
Currently a green belt to the south of Gawler ensures this historic country town remains exactly that, rather than the most northern suburb of Adelaide.
